Electrical Project Manager

Summary

The Electrical Project Manager will work on-site, assisting and reporting to a senior project manager. He/She will interpret technical statements of work and design documentation as it relates to project planning, budgeting, procurements, implementation, testing, training, and project completion. The Electrical Project Manager will work with a variety of documentation on any given project including submittals, testing, training, implementation, change orders, purchase orders, and subcontracts to ensure high quality of work at a job site. He/She will plan, schedule, adjust, and maintain timelines in a fast-paced construction/installation environment while maximizing resources and optimizing budgets.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates understanding and enthusiastic agreement with the vision and mission of Inter Connection Electric.
  • Position requires 3-5 years of experience working as a Licensed Journeyman.
  • Possesses a journeyman’s license or master electrician license.
  • Pass a background check, including drug test.
  • Works well with others in order to reach common goals.
  • Proficiency using various software applications (CADD, Scheduling, MS Office Suite, and Estimation Software).
  • Strong business skills.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience with contract documents (contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, specifications, and change orders).
  • Must possess an ambitious attitude with a desire to advance.
  • Successful at thinking quickly, independently, using critical thinking and able to rely on personal judgment and experience to make decisions and accomplish tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Generate high quality work in alliance with the vision and mission of Inter Connection Electric.
  • Conducts site visits to understand the constructability of projects.
  • Understands plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Develops project schedules: assigning cost and manpower to the schedule and provide cash and manpower forecasting.
  • Develops budgets and cost codes for projects; assisting in the preparation of technical proposals, including assisting in the design and writing the scope of work, management plans, work sequence, safety, quality control and commissioning.
  • Develops and presents clear and detailed project scopes to the client and meets with potential customers to present proposals.
  • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work in a timely and professional manner.

Electrical Foreman

Summary

The Foreman is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating all the workings at a job site including that of a crew of electricians, apprentices, and laborers. He/She will establish and adjust work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project, and organize and coordinate all project materials and equipment. The Forman will also ensure that all work installed is completed in accordance with the standards set forth by Inter Connection Electric—all work will be completed on budget, on time, and in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates understanding and enthusiastic agreement with the vision and mission of Inter Connection Electric.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a journeyman in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures using blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
  • Pass a background check, including a drug test.
  • Experience using hand tools, small power tools, shop machines, and heavy equipment.
  • Experience inspecting installation sites.
  • Experience studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installations procedures.
  • Experience reading contract drawings.
  • Experience installing and mounting electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components.
  • Experience installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, wiring, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment following drawings of electrical layouts and building plans.
  • Ability to perform interlock wiring as required.
  • Experience testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices.
  • Ability to appropriately diagnose malfunctions in systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate to cause of a breakdown and take appropriate steps to correct the problem.
  • Ability to instruct and train workers to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Has a clear understanding of the latest edition of the NEC.

Responsibilities

  • Works to establish, adjust, and maintain work sequences to meet the construction schedule for a given project.
  • Organizes and coordinates all of the project materials and equipment.
  • Reads and interprets specifications, contract documents, plans, and prepares sketches of proposed work as well as producing layout drawings and code calculations for projects.
  • Analyzes and quickly resolves any work problems and may arise and ensures that all deficiencies on any given project are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Leads by example—sets, monitors, and enforces the standards of safety, and exemplary quality of work set forth by Inter Connection Electric.
  • Conducts quality control inspections on project sites.
  • Coordinates with all other crafts working on a job site to ensure smooth transitions.

Electrician

Summary

The electrician will work with other Licensed Journeyman, master electricians and electricians on high profile, institutional, and commercial electrical projects installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. He/She will also work on power distribution, power systems, and other systems (fire alarm, audio/visual, automation) and low voltage power distribution.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates understanding and enthusiastic agreement with the vision and mission of Inter Connection Electric.
  • Pass a background check, including a drug test.
  • Journeyman License or equivalent experience and willingness to get a license.
  • Experience installing conduit and wiring systems.
  • Must own personal electrician tools.
  • Must have reliable form of transportation.
  • Must provide proof of previous job stability.
  • Excellent safety record.
  • Ambitious attitude, with a long-term, career orientated desire to learn and advance.
  • Superior work ethic and eagerness to succeed.
  • Experience in: large feeder distribution, medium voltage system installation, switchgear, generators, underground distribution systems, fire alarms, UPS, layout capabilities, and supervisory skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures on a variety of job sites.
  • Work on a variety of power distribution systems and other systems.
  • Variety of tasks as assigned.

Estimator

Summary

The Estimator is responsible to forecast project costs by gathering details and compiling data to estimate all production costs according to drawings and specifications. He/She will prepare complete, clear, and concise bids and/or budget proposal estimates, and design/build proposals in accordance with the exemplary work standards set forth by Inter Connection Electric.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates understanding and enthusiastic agreement with the vision and mission of Inter Connection Electric.
  • Pass a background check, including a drug test.
  • Requires 1-5 years of experience in the commercial electrical industry.
  • Must be familiar with establishing cost estimates.
  • Strong communication skills, English/grammar, math, and logical reasoning.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the commercial electrical industry.
  • Experience with reading electrical plans and specifications, of all trades, to identify materials, labor, equipment, and services needed to meet project requirements.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects at one time and work both independently and under direct supervision.
  • Must possess an aggressive desire for constant improvement.

  • Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance.
  • Various tasks as assigned.
